Three years ago today we gave birth to a beautiful 6 lbs 6 oz blue eyed baby girl. Her birth was just the beginning of an amazing journey for us as a family. After years of prayers for her arrival, she was finally here and I can not believe it was 36 months ago today that we held her in our arms for the first time. It was a magical moment that I had once questioned would ever happen for us as a family.
Now, 3 years later, we could not be more proud of the playful spirt and joy she brings to our lives. She has taught us so much about love, life, and patience (of course). Most of all, she has been the inspiration behind our boldness to step out of our comfort zone and live life. Her life brought encouragement for us to have the courage to begin our journey as a full time RV family. We wanted to soak up every moment together and this was the perfect opportunity for us to make that happen.
She has taught us that life is precious and should be lived to the fullest. She taught us to treasure the moments and not to live in fear. She may never know the impact she has had on us as parents or people in general, but in her short 3 years she has already changed the course of our lives forever.
So in return, we hope to pass on the same principles to her. We hope she continues to spread joy to this world and not live in fear. Maybe she will continue to have a passion for the outdoors or she may find a new passion. Whatever that may be, we hope to teach her to chase her dreams and even though something maybe a little “scary” at times, those moment tend to make the most memories in life.
We want her to know it is okay to fail. We all fail. What makes us different is how we respond to the failure. Next time, strive to do better and we get back up again and brush ourselves off. If we had let the fear of failure stop us, we never would have made the leap to travel full-time. I can not imagine life if we had let fear paralyze our dreams.
We may fall and we may fail, but we don’t give up. Every day is a new adventure, a new chance at life, and new opportunities.
I would rather live with failures than with regrets.
Many of the fears we had when we decided to live full-time in an RV have not even been an issue. We still have great relationships with our families, we have adjusted to the space and find it enjoyable, and all the “stuff” we had to get rid of is not missed.
Did I cover most of it there? Fear can be paralyzing if we let it take control. Hensley has taught we can’t grow until we give it a go.
We wanted to live with no regrets, because we don’t know what the future holds for us. We never thought life would bring us on a full-time RV living journey while making Youtube videos. It is amazing where life can take you if you learn to let go of fear and embrace adventure.
So Happy Birthday to the little girl who teaches us more and more every day to live our lives to the fullest. And thank you to any and all children who have been an inspiration to their parents. As parents, we are here to teach our children about life, but many times it is our own child who is doing the teaching.
