This is the best RV Road Trip in the World (Ring Road in Iceland)

Kate F

r three-week trek around Iceland continues with more jaw-dropping landscapes and a little bit of chaos. We start by exploring Iceland’s largest lava field, a moss-covered expanse that goes on forever (and makes me actually appreciate the last name Moss).

Then, we make our way to a black sand beach that’s as dangerous as it is beautiful—no getting near the waves here unless you want to be swept out to sea. From there, we head into the town of Vik to try Iceland’s famous black crust pizza, made with activated “charckle” (you know, like winda). Sounds weird. Tastes amazing!

But the real highlight? Camping overnight next to a waterfall while watching the northern lights dance over the sky. Absolutely unreal. And because we love a good adventure, we end the trip with some waterfall chasing—including one we hike behind (and, naturally, get drenched in the process). Iceland is making us feel so small in the best way possible.

Don’t forget—our Spring Huddle is coming up April 3–6, 2025, at Splash RV Resort and Water Park! It’s one of our favorite events of the year, where we get to hang out with y’all, share meals, sit around the campfire, and make memories together. Plus, Splash RV has lazy rivers, water slides, and so much fun for the whole family. Spots are limited, so grab yours now at lessjunkmorejourney.com/splash!
